Planning Consent for Asbestos Waste Transfer Station
We are pleased to announce that we have secured planning consent for Artico Environmental for an asbestos waste transfer station at their site on Baglan Energy Park, Port Talbot.
The facility will enble the company to store and bulk small quantities of asbestos under controlled conditions, prior to disposal at suitably licensed waste management facilities.
As a Major development we undertook a formal Pre-Application Consultation process in accordance with the Town and Country Planning (Development Management Procedure) (Wales) Order 2012 whereby we engaged extensively with neighbours, local representatives and technical consultees to develop the proposal prior to its submission to Neath Port Talbot County Borough Council (NPTCBC).
After due consideration of the planning and technical information, the Local Authority was satisfied that the development would not result in any unacceptable impacts on the amenity of nearby businesses, residents or the local environment. Planning consent was granted under delegated powers.
We would like to thank the Officers involved for the diligent and expedient way in which they considered this application.
