Natural Resources Wales Consults on Changes to Standard Rules Environmental Permits for Waste Operations

A consultation on proposed changes to a number of waste standard rules sets, issued under the Environmental Permitting Regulations has been announced by Natural Resources Wales (NRW).  The consultation runs from the 1st August until the 14th October 2016.

NRW are consulting on changes to a number of existing rule sets including the introduction of new fire prevention requirements, and changes to permit conditions to allow a broader range of materials and activities to be undertaken under a single permit. They are also reviewing deposit for recovery permits to reduce the risk of pollution from these activities.

Consultation documents can be found here.

If approved, the changes will apply to existing permits and new applications.
